S. Jaret West  is a graduate of the School of Visual Arts at the University of North Texas in Denton, TX. Born and raised in Texas, Jaret left Texas to travel around the world, see, observe, learn,  and "gather ideas". He works in Mixed Media, because the world is mixed, and his work could be seen as a commentary on the expressions and varieties of life.  He is into Buddhism and Deism as well as the studies of mythology, culture and aesthetics. Although his formal training is in Painting and Drawing, Jaret is not limited to one aspect of art. As he states: " The world is too complicated to be catagorized into just one word; so using all available media and the world as a canvas is the only way to begin to make an expression."

Jaret lives in Florida now, having settled into home life with two boys.  He teaches and works at area art centers and volunteers at his kid's schools as well.
